Georgiana Carhart, mainstay on WCPO’s "Life Begins at 80," will celebrate her 88th birthday Sunday. Her job came about as the result of a happy accident. Accompanying a friend who was being auditioned as a possible panelist, Georgiana's quick quips and "Grand Dame" appearance so impressed the program's producers - Jack Barry and Dan Enright - that they hired her on the spot. Her mock quarrels with Fred Stein, the program's other "regular,” have led innumerable viewers to query: "Are they engaged?" Georgiana's answer is vehement: "No! Besides, he's too old for me!'" Still interested in men, she has said "I can tell everything I want to know about a man by looking at his passport, his bankbook and his library card..."
